Gallery 110, A Pet Project

A Pet Project

1st annual fundraiser exhibition benefiting Pioneer Square’s Doney Coe Pet Clinic.

December 5 – 28, 2019

*Exhibition Reception: December 28, 5 – 9pm*

Every year, the Doney Coe Pet Clinic helps over a thousand families experiencing homelessness in an unconventional, but immensely significant way: by offering free veterinary services and resources to homeless and low income families.

100% Volunteer-run, the Doney Coe Pet Clinic opens its doors in Pioneer Square every other Saturday, starting at 1pm. Their services are so valuable to those they help, that families often start lining up at 8am, rain or shine, waiting hours to receive care for their pets, everything ranging from wellness checks to flea treatments to vaccinations and more. Many pet owners experiencing homelessness are likely to tend to their animal companion’s needs before their own. Though homeless pet owners are frequently stigmatized, studies have found that for many individuals experiencing homelessness, animal companionship provides them with connection, a sense of responsibility and a positive image of self-worth, all cornerstones of rehabilitation.

In short, the Doney Coe Pet Clinic doesn’t just help pets, it brings hope to families that might otherwise feel left behind or forgotten about by their city. This is why we are thrilled to be hosting a benefit exhibition by local artists, with the gallery’s proceeds going directly to Doney Coe Pet Clinic.

For the month of December, Gallery 110 will host works from the Pet Project in our North Gallery. We have also partnered with All the Best Pet Care for a satellite exhibition simultaneously at their Madison location.

Please join us on December 28th at Gallery 110 for a reception and fundraiser, where we will feature an expansion of the exhibition across the entire gallery for one night only where food and drink will be served and all purchases benefit Doney Coe and the 110 Pet Project. We would like to thank Georgetown Brewing Company for their generous contribution to this event.
